Valery Brinikh reports on appointment of new examination in his case

At the request of the defence, the Maikop City Court has appointed a handwriting examination of the protocol of interrogation of one of the prosecution witnesses. This was reported by ecologist Valery Brinikh.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Valery Brinikh is accused of disseminating on the Internet the extremist material an article entitled "The Silence of the Lambs". The charge is based on the police findings that the article is offensive to residents of the Teuchezh District.

The ecologist claims of fraud in the case. On May 11, Valery Brinikh appealed to the President of the Bar Association of Adygea with the request to oblige advocates appointed by the Maikop City Court to waive their participation in the trial as his defenders.

At the court session held on June 1, the defence has filed a motion to waive appointed advocate Galina Demidova; however, the Court has refused to grant the defence motion.

Meanwhile, the Court has granted the motion filed by advocate Alexander Popkov to appoint a handwriting examination of the protocol of interrogation of Mugdin Guchetl, one of the prosecution witnesses.

According to the ecologist, the Court has also dismissed the motion filed by advocate Andrei Sabinin. The advocate insisted on questioning one of the linguistic experts who wrote the review on the conclusion of the linguistic examination, conducted by the investigators.

The next court session is scheduled for June 17.
