Suspect of preparing terror act in Nalchik detained

A powerful explosive device was confiscated from the car of a native of Terek, who, according to power agents, had planned to organize a terror act, said a law enforcement source.

The above person, born in 1978, was detained in Nalchik. He is suspected of involvement in the local armed underground and in preparing a terror act in the territory of Kabardino-Balkaria.

"A ready to use explosive power with the power of 2 kg of TNT (trotyl) equivalent was found in his car," the RIA "Kabardino-Balkaria" quotes the source.

The bomb was destroyed on-site by a directed explosion.

The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that on May 17 the court sentenced a resident of the Urvan District of Kabardino-Balkaria to seven years in prison, having found him guilty of links with militants and illegal possession of weapons and narcotic drugs.
