Advocate states repayment of Savchenko's fine
The Ukrainian military Nadezhda Savchenko has paid the fine of 30,000 roubles, imposed on her for her illegal crossing the border; however, the process of giving her to Ukraine goes slowly, said the advocate lawyer Nikolai Polozov.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 20, the Russia's Ministry of Justice (MoJ) received a request about transfer of Nadezhda Savchenko to Ukraine; and on May 18, the Russia's MoJ received the necessary documents concerning this transfer. Advocates expect the Savchenko's transfer in six months.
On March 22, the Ukrainian aviatress Nadezhda Savchenko was sentenced to 22 years in colony on charges of involvement in the deaths in Donbas of two Russian journalists and illegal crossing the Russian border. Nadezhda refused to plead guilty.
"The transfer procedure goes, but it goes very slowly; the fine has been paid; the FSIN (Russian Federal Penitentiary Service) has handed documents to the Russia's MoJ, which is to send them to the Ukrainian court; and the latter should make a decision whether to enforce the decision of the Russian court on the present case," the RIA "Novosti" quotes Mr Polozov as saying.
According to his story, under the procedure, the Ukrainian court should then send the documents back to Russia; and the Russian court will then decide whether to transfer Savchenko to Ukraine for serving her sentence there.
