Dagestani journalists treat actions of law enforcers in Derbent as mistake
In Derbent, investigators have reported on discovery of the body of only one militant at the place of the special operation. According to Dagestani journalists, the actions of the police chiefs during the special operation show a lack of experience and a possible desire to receive a reward for the capture of the killers of Gadjiakhmed Kaziakhmedov.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 14, in Derbent, law enforcers blocked an apartment which sheltered the persons suspected of killing the father of the former City Mayor on May 9. According to the law enforcers, during the special operation, four suspected militants, the chief of the Criminal Investigation Department, and an OMON (riot police) fighter were killed. As of May 15, the number of wounded law enforcers reached 17 people.
Today, Rasul Temirbekov, the spokesman of the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), has confirmed the discovery of the body of only one militant, identified as Bairamali Abasov, suspect of the murder of Gadjiakhmed Kaziakhmedov.
The senior police officials of Derbent took part in the detention of the people suspected of the murder because of the criticism voiced by Alexander Bastrykin, Chairman of the ICRF. This opinion was expressed by Mairbek Agaev, the editor-in-chief of the Dagestani newspaper "Chernovik" (Draft). The Chairman of the ICRF visited Dagestan on May 12.
According to Milrad Fatullaev, the editor-in-chief of news agency "Derbent", the senior police officials of Derbent made a serious mistake when they took part in the detention of Bairamali Abasov.
The senior police officials did not expect to encounter the armed resistance from the apartment, reports a source familiar with the course of the special operation.
