Supporters of Igbal Agazade report on attempts to intimidate members of his election headquarters

In Azerbaijan, unidentified persons intimidate members of the electoral headquarters of Igbal Agazade, the leader of the "Umid" (Hope) Party. According to members of the Party, threats are also voiced against voters of the 90th Agdash electoral precinct, in which Igbal Agazade was nominated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the repeated elections to the Parliament of Azerbaijan at the 90th Agdash electoral precinct are scheduled for June 18. Earlier, in that electoral precinct, the elections were held on November 1, 2015, and Chinghiz Asadullaev, a non-partisan candidate, was leading. However, the results of the elections were cancelled. The reason for the cancellation was announced as identification of violations committed during the voting. The registration of candidates will last until May 25.

"While collecting signatures, we faced pressure at the very first village Yukhary-Lyaki. As soon as we began to visit houses, a Mercedes car with state licence plates of 90 VD 228 approached us, and four young athletic men came out of it. They told us that we 'should not collect signatures', since they 'had their own candidate'," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Elman Abbasov, Deputy Chairman for Press and Information of the "Umid" Party.

According to him, unidentified young men mentioned one of the local officials as their "own candidate".

Elman Abbasov has also added that local residents also faced threats.
