Nagorno-Karabakh reports on resumption of shelling from Azerbaijan
The Azerbaijani side has resumed shelling of combat positions of the Defence Army in the north-east direction. This was reported in the evening summary message of the Nagorno-Karabakh Ministry of Defence (MoD).
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today the situation in the Karabakh conflict zone has again worsened after the armistice announced on April 5. The parties to the conflict have reported about shelling of civilians in the frontline villages. According to the Azerbaijani party, one local resident was killed during the shelling, and eight others were wounded. Later it was reported that another Azerbaijani villager died in hospital after the shelling.
At 8:00 p.m. of April 28, Azerbaijan "once again violated the ceasefire agreement observed during the day," and Baku "uses mortar launchers with calibres of 60, 82, and 120 mm," states the report released by the Nagorno-Karabakh MoD.
"The advanced units of the Defence Army take preventive measures to suppress the activities of the enemy," states the release of the Nagorno-Karabakh MoD.
During the day, the situation on the border has remained calm. This is confirmed by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, who on April 28 was at the frontline of the Defence Army in the north-east direction. In the evening, when the Azerbaijani side had started shelling, the officers offered the journalist to leave the combat zone.
