Resident of Azerbaijani village killed in Karabakh conflict zone

Today, near-border villages have been shelled in Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh. One killed person and eight others wounded were reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night of April 2, the situation in the Karabakh conflict zone was escalated. The parties to the conflict were engaged in combat actions with the use of tanks, multiple launch rocket systems, and aircrafts, which resulted in a large number of victims. On April 5, the sides to the conflict declared a truce; however, they periodically accuse each other of violation of agreements on ceasefire.

In the shelling of the village of Chemenli of the Agdam District of Azerbaijan, Famil Mustafaev, a local resident, was fatally wounded, and he died in the hospital of his shrapnel wound. The village of Afetli of the Agdam District was also shelled, the "APA" reports.

After the shelling, apart from Famil Mustafaev, eight other persons were brought to hospital with wounds, and the condition of two of them is estimated as serious, the "Interfax" reports with reference to an official of the executive power of the Agdam District of Azerbaijan.

Besides, today, the Karabakh village of Mataghis was also shelled. Missiles have damaged roofs and windows in the houses of the village, but no information about victims has been reported yet, the "News.am" reports with reference to a local school principal.
