Nagorno-Karabakh blames Azerbaijan for soldier's death
At night of April 27, as a result of Azerbaijan's shelling, a serviceman was killed, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) has reported today, adding that last night the units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces shelled Martakert and other dwelling settlements.
The Azerbaijani units used the artillery, mortars and the "Grad" (Hail) multiple missile launchers. The most intense fire was recorded on the contact line in the northern direction; a response fire was opened at Azerbaijani positions.
As a result of the shelling, Ayk Minasyan, born in 1996, a soldier of the Defence Army of the NKR, was deadly wounded.
By morning, the situation along the contact line became relatively quiet, says the website the NKR's MoD.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night of April 2, the situation in the Karabakh conflict zone was escalated. The parties to the conflict were engaged in combat actions with the use of tanks, multiple launch rocket systems, and aircrafts, which resulted in a large number of victims. On April 5, the sides to the conflict declared a truce; however, they periodically accuse each other of violation of agreements on ceasefire.
