Journalists associate resignation of Dagestani Press Minister with failure of information policy
In recent years, the Dagestani authorities have gained a negative image developed at the federal level, and this fact explains the resignation of Aznaur Adjiev, Minister of Press and Information, and the reorganization of the Dagestani Department for Information Policy. This opinion was voiced by the journalists interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot".
On April 20, Aznaur Adjiev, Dagestani Minister of Press and Information, was dismissed from his post "in connection with his transfer to another job." Burliyat Tokbolatova was appointed the new Minister of Press and Information.
According to Albert Esedov, the leader of the Dagestani branch of the "Yabloko" Party, the final blow in the information field was inflicted at the media forum held in Saint Petersburg on April 4-7. The media forum was attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Dagestani journalist Alik Abdulgamidov told him how officials prevented the initiative for the construction of new schools in Dagestan.
Alik Abdulgamidov has confirmed that the speech has caused a negative reaction of Dagestani leader Ramazan Abdulatipov.
According to Magomed Magomedov, an observer of the newspaper "Chernovik" (Draft), the past two years were marked by repeated failures of the information policy in Dagestan.
"The failure was clearly manifested in the incidents associated with the house for disabled children 'Zabota' (Care), as well as the events in Elista, where a Dagestani athlete had committed an act of hooliganism. The Dagestani authorities have earned a negative image because of the lack of adequate reaction, inefficiency, and inability to repel information attacks," Magomed Magomedov has noted.
According to him, the new Minister should overcome the pressure of the administration.
