Nazhud Guchigov resigns as boss of Nozhai-Yurt ROVD

Instead of Nazhud Guchigov, who became known after his marriage to a 17-year-old girl, Police Captain Iskhak Chalaev has been appointed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 16, 2015, Grozny hosted a wedding ceremony of the 57-year-old Nazhud Guchigov, then the boss of the Nozhai-Yurt ROVD (District Interior Division) of Chechnya, and a 17-year-old local girl. The wedding had a great public resonance in Russia and triggered disputes about polygamy.

"The new head of the Nozhai-Yurt ROVD is the 33-year-old Police Captain Iskhak Chalaev. Until recently, he was the commander of a platoon of the battalion of the PPS (patrol-and-post service) of the same ROVD. This appointment is connected with the transfer of the former ROVD head Police Colonel Nazhud Guchigov to another position," the Chechen MIA has informed.

Police Captain Iskhak Chalaev, a MIA source has noted, is at his service with interior bodies since 2004. He was decorated with several ministerial awards, and originates from the Benoy clan, to which the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov belongs.

The new Guchigov's post is still unknown.
