Video record of incident with power agents in mosque in Hungarian Warriors Street handed over to Prosecutor's Office

The surveillance cameras of the Salafi mosque located in Hungarian Warriors Street in Makhachkala have fixed the intrusion of drunken policemen; and this record was handed over to the Prosecutor's Office on April 21, said a mosque source. The Office assured that if it is confirmed that the policemen were drunk, they would be punished.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the employees and visitors of the mosque stated that on April 10 a group of drunken policemen came to the mosque. They insulted and threatened the believers. The Dagestani MIA called this information "a fake."

Power agents are regularly raiding the above mosque; thus, mass detentions of mosque-goers were held on November 20, 2015, and on March 25, 2016.

On April 21, the video record from the mosque surveillance cameras was delivered to the republic's Prosecutor's Office. It shows the moment of power agents' intrusion, the mosque source said, adding that earlier certain people, who presented themselves as policemen, tried to take away the record.

Also on April 21, the mosque leaders were summoned to the ROVD (District Interior Division) for questioning about the publications about the above intrusion.

As explained by Renat Djamalutdinov, the head of the press service of the Prosecutor's Office, the policeman, who is intoxicated with alcohol while performing his duties, is subjected to disciplinary punishment.
