Founder of "Chernovik" confirms fears about Djalaldinov's life

Ramazan Djalaldinov, the author of the video appeal to President of Russia about corruption in the Chechen village of Kenkhi, is a reliable source; and he has long been receiving demands from law enforcers to stop complaining, said Magdi Kamalov, the founder of the weekly newspaper "Chernovik" (Draft).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the appeal of Djalaldinov to Vladimir Putin was posted on the YouTube on April 14. He stated that residents of the Avar village of Kenkhi cannot get compensations for their houses destroyed by the war and flood, if they do not agree to get only 1/3 of the due sum.

On April 16, Kenkhi villagers held a gathering and publicly condemned Djalaldinov. Also, Chechen mass media published materials refuting the Djalaldinov's statements.

Djalaldinov is an adequate person; and he is in real danger, Kamalov said. According to his version, now Djalaldinov is hiding.

The problems of Kenkhi villagers are voiced out not only by Djalaldinov, said the founder of the "Chernovik".

"We have five-six persons, who confirm the same information. We learned that after Djalaldinov posted his appeal to Putin, representatives of the authorities came to the village," Kamalov said.
