Baku and Stepanakert exchange accusations of shelling with mortar launchers

During the past day, the Armenian side shelled the Azerbaijani positions 114 times. This was stated by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD). The MoD of Nagorno-Karabakh reported 50 cases of shelling from the Azerbaijani side. According to the both MoDs, the attacks were carried out also with the use of mortar launchers.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 5, after a four-day escalation of the situation in the Karabakh conflict zone, a truce was announced. However, after that the parties still regularly accuse each other of violating the ceasefire.

According to the Azerbaijani MoD, during the past day, the Armenian armed forces violated ceasefire 114 times by using 82-millimetre mortar launchers.

In response, the Azerbaijani armed forces shelled the Armenian positions 114 times, reports the website of the Azerbaijani MoD.

In its turn, the Nagorno-Karabakh MoD reports on 50 attacks from the Azerbaijani side over the entire length of the contact line.

Let us remind you that on April 19, the Azerbaijani MoD reported on 121 attacks on its positions from the Armenian side during the day, and the Nagorno-Karabakh MoD counted 80 attacks from the Azerbaijani side.
