NKR states shelling of its positions

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) of the non-recognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) has declared a mortar attack on its positions on the contact line committed by the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 16, the official Baku accused the Armenian party of 118 cases of violating the ceasefire regime during the last 24 hours. According to the MoD of Azerbaijan, the fire was delivered both from the pre-border regions of Armenia, and from the territory of the NKR. Then, Yerevan has reported about the shelling of Armenian military posts at night on April 16 from Azerbaijani positions.

According to the MoD of the NKR, on April 16, Azerbaijan violated the ceasefire agreement by delivering fire from small firearms in some sections of the contact line, the RIA "Novosti" reports quoting the MoD of the NKR.

The Karabakh militaries, generally, observed the oral agreement on ceasefire and resorted to retaliatory steps only in case of absolute necessary, says the MoD of the NKR.
