Attack on Novoselitsk ROVD could be motivated by Zaur Akaev's personal revenge on policemen

Field investigators are engaged in checking the version that the attack on the Novoselitsk ROVD (District Interior Division) could be motivated by personal revenge on policemen from Zaur Akaev, who was killed in the attack. This was reported by a source close to the investigation. Zaur Akaev spent a long period of time in prison while serving his sentence for murder of domestic nature, reports his friend.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 11, three persons attacked the ROVD in the Stavropol village of Novoselitskoe. According to investigators, one of the attackers committed suicide bombing, and two others were killed. No civilians or policemen were injured as a result of the attack. The attackers were identified as Zaur Akaev, Ramazan Khaibulaev, and Isai Abdulatipov, residents of the village of Kitaevskoe, who had earlier criminal records.

The field investigators suggest that the men killed in the attack on the ROVD came to the police building to kill district police inspectors, since Zaur Akaev believed they were guilty for "his imprisonment."

According to a source close to the course of the investigation, apart from the version of personal revenge, the investigators are also checking the possible involvement of Imam Abbas Magomedov in the case.
