OSCE Minsk Group declares three principles of settlement of Karabakh conflict

The non-use of force, the right of people to self-determination, and the territorial integrity are the key principles for the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, said the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group. The mandate of the Minsk Group does not imply an investigation into the resumption of hostilities in the conflict zone, the co-chairs have noted.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today the Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan met the mediators of the OSCE Minsk Group on Karabakh settlement.

Also, a press conference of the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group was held with the presence of Andrzej Kasprzyk, the Personal Representative of the Chairman of the OSCE.

The settlement of the Karabakh conflict is based on three principles: non-use of force, the right of peoples to self-determination, and the territorial integrity, said Igor Popov, the Russian co-chair of the Minsk Group.

According to his story, the main elements of the settlement are the return of the territories and the solution of the status issues of Nagorno-Karabakh, while the main mission of the OSCE Minsk Group is to help the parties to stabilize the situation.

The diplomat believes that the parties are demonstrating their readiness to maintain the armistice, which was achieved on April 5.

Pierre Andrieu, the co-chair from France, has noted that the mandate of the Minsk Group does not assume the investigation into the issue of who had started the warfare.
