In Khasavyurt, taxi driver wounded during police activities (+video)
Sirazhudin Biyarslanov, a 47-year-old taxi driver, was hospitalized as a result of a gunshot wound received during the preventive activities carried out by the police in Khasavyurt.
After the Friday prayer at the Khasavyurt mosque, popularly nicknamed as "Bolnichnaya" (Hospital), policemen attempted to detain a number of believers. This was reported by eyewitnesses.
According to their stories, law enforcers acted brutally and failed to explain the reasons for their actions. Thus, they angered the believers who stood up for the detainees and did not let force them into a police car. "Two policemen started firing into the air. They made a lot of shots, and as a result, a passer-by was wounded. He has been brought to hospital," said one of the eyewitnesses.
At present, Sirazhudin Biyarslanov stays in critical condition, reports a source in Khasavyurt.
Earlier today, in Makhachkala, Idris Yusupov, a correspondent of the newspaper "Novoye Delo", and Sirazhutdin Datsiev, a member of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial", were detained when leaving the mosque. They have already been released from the Soviet ROVD (District Interior Division) of Makhachkala.
