Turkish fans throw garbage at Krasnodar volleyball players
In Istanbul, during the first final match of the European Confederation Cup (ECB), fans of the "Galatasaray" volleyball team threw garbage to players of the guest team, and the Turkish coach showed the Russian players an insulting gesture. This was reported by Tatiana Kosheleva, a player of the Krasnodar "Dynamo" volleyball team.
The match ended with the score 3: 2 in favour of the host team.
At night of March 30, after the game, Tatiana Kosheleva wrote on her Instagram page about inadequate, in her opinion, behaviour of the fans and the coach of the "Galatasaray" volleyball team.
"I believe that we should always respect each other, but the situation I faced during the game frightened and shocked me. Fans of the Turkish team behaved more than inadequately, and their words and gestures demonstrated all their hatred toward us. They threw garbage from stands on our heads!!! And the most impressive shock for me was a moment when the head coach of the 'Galatasaray' showed his middle finger to me and staff members of our team," wrote the spiker of the "Dynamo" Volleyball Club (Krasnodar).
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the relations between Russia and Turkey have deteriorated after on November 24, 2015, a Russian Su-24 bomber aircraft from the Russian air group in Syria was shot down by Turkish fighter aircrafts.
