Detained parishioners of mosque in Makhachkala are back at large

The parishioners, delivered from the Salafi mosque in Hungarian Warriors Street to the police, have been released. In total, power agents detained no more than 20 people, said a mosque-goer. A police source has explained that operative agents carried out their searching operations in the area of the mosque.

The "Caucasian Knot" has informed that on March 25 parishioners of the above mosque reported about mass detentions.

On March 25, mosque-goers were detained both before and after the Friday namaz (prayer), an employee of the mosque told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent on March 28.

One of the parishioners later added that all the detainees were released in the evening of the same day.

"They had detained some 18-20 people, and did it selectively. Then, they put people into a bus and took to the ROVD (District Interior Division). There, the believers were checked against the databases; those, who were not there, were registered. All the detainees were released by the evening," said the source.
