Resident of Dagestan accused of attempt on law enforcers and involvement in IAF

Investigators have accused a resident of Buynaksk of an attempt on the lives of policemen, involvement in illegal armed formations (IAFs), illicit trafficking in arms and explosive devices. The criminal case has been brought to the court.

According to the investigators, in December 2014, Sagidgusen Magomedov joined the ranks of the IAF led by Aliaskhab Kebekov and assumed the responsibility to supply members of the armed underground with means of communication and food.

The investigators have revealed that, in March 2015, Sagidgusen Magomedov received from another member of the armed underground a backpack with ammunition and explosive substances and hid it in an abandoned building in Buynaksk, and in late April 2015, he decided to pick it up.

Sagidgusen Magomedov is accused under four Articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, and the most serious of them is the one on an attempt on the life of a law enforcer (Article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), reports the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

The sanctions under Article 317 of the Russian Criminal Code stipulate the punishment of up to life imprisonment.
