Gatsalov re-elected mufti of North Ossetia
Delegates from Muslim communities have unanimously supported the candidacy of Khadjimurat Gatsalov.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Gatsalov took the post of acting Mufti of North Ossetia back on July 14, 2010, after Ali Evteev had left the post of the head of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM) of North Ossetia. On March 17, 2011, Gatsalov was elected Mufti of the republic for five years.
Khadjimurat Gatsalov was the only candidate for the post of Mufti of North Ossetia. The voting was attended by all invited Muftis of Northern Caucasus, Ravil Gainutdin, Chairman of the Russian Council of Muftis, Sheikh of Northern Caucasus Allahshukyur Pashazade, and state servants.
Gatsalov was unanimously re-elected to the post of Mufti of North Ossetia; he was supported by all the delegates, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
