Russian military officials do not come to trial in Valery Permyakov's case

The whereabouts of seven Russian soldiers, involved as witnesses in the case of the murder of the Avetisyan family members in Gyumri are unknown. This was reported to the court in Armenia by officers of the Russian military base.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the trial in the case against Valery Permyakov takes place on the territory of the 102nd Russian military base in Gyumri. At present, the court questions Russian soldiers. Advocates have filed a request to question additional witnesses in the Valery Permyakov's case, including the Russian soldiers, who have already left the 102nd military base.

On January 12, 2015, in Gyumri, six members of the Avetisyan family were killed, and a child survived the attack died a week later. Soldier Valery Permyakov is a defendant in the case of the murder. On August 12, 2015, the Russian court sentenced him to 10 years of imprisonment on the charges of desertion, theft, and illegal possession of weapons.

According to Judge Arutyun Movsisyan, officers of the Russian military base are not able to provide the information about the whereabouts of seven additional witnesses.

The Judge has read out the message, received from the officers of the 102nd military base, which states that "those soldiers do not longer serve at the military base, and they are in Russia."
