Khasavyurt market traders complain about too high price for rent
New top managers of the "Terek" Market have ignored the agreement with market traders on the price for the rent. This was claimed by participants of the protest action in Khasavyurt. According to the protestors, they are simply not able to rent commercial premises at the new price.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, in Khasavyurt, market traders of the "Terek" Market held the action to protest against the increase of the price for the rent of commercial premises. The protesters demanded the meeting with the top managers of the market, reports Akhmed Rasulov, an eyewitness of the protest action.
According to him, the city residents state that the "Terek" Market is owned by family members of Abdula and Gadji Makhachev.
Gadji Makhachev held the post of the Deputy Prime Minister of Dagestan in the period from September to December of 2013. On December 19, 2013, he was killed in a road traffic accident in Moscow. His brother Abdula, who served as the Deputy Minister of Sports of Dagestan, was detained in Moscow on January 21. He was charged with fraud.
The "Terek" Market mainly sells food products and household chemicals.
According to Magomed, a market trader, they had the agreement with the former director that the price for the rent would not exceed 100 roubles per square meter. However, the new director "has said that he raises the price up to 150 roubles."
Magomed has also confirmed that the "Terek" Market is owned by the Makhachev family.
