PARNAS' spokesman states violations at registering candidates for elections in Volgograd Region

Most registered candidates for the Gorodische City Duma of the Volgograd Region have submitted incomplete sets of documents to the territorial election commission (TEC), said Anatoly Polunin, a rejected candidate nominated by the Party of People's Freedom (known as PARNAS).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 24 the Volgograd Regional Court dismissed Anatoly Polunin's complaint against the TEC's denial to register him.

On March 3, Anatoly Polunin disseminated his open letter, stating a violation of his rights. In particular, he said that he was rejected registration, because his documents failed to meet the instructions of the Central Election Commission (CEC).

At the same time, Polunin emphasizes that the TEC of the Gorodische District of the Volgograd Region has registered other persons who submitted incomplete or incorrect sets of documents.

In this regard, he said that the outcomes of the elections to the Gorodische City Duma of the Volgograd Region, to be held on March 13, 2016, should not be considered valid.

Anatoly Polunin told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that he seeks to "convey violations of the law to the prosecutor's office" and asks to "pay attention to them."
