Sochi: action in memory of Nemtsov passed under Mayoralty's control

The commemoration action of Boris Nemtsov, held in his hometown, was supervised by law enforcers and officials from the Mayoralty. The action ended without incident.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that actions on the anniversary of Boris Nemtsov's murder were held today in Russia, including in the Southern Federal District (SFD). The oppositionist was shot dead on February 27, 2015, in Moscow. His relatives and supporters assert that the real customers of the murder have not yet been established.

The action in memory of Boris Nemtsov was held today in Sochi from 5 to 7 p.m. at the monument to victims of political repressions; the number of participants did not exceed 20 persons.

Let us remind you that Boris Nemtsov was a native of Sochi. In 2009, he ran for the post of the Mayor. According to official data of the Central Election Commission (CEC), Nemtsov gained 13.61% of votes and lost to the incumbent Mayor Anatoly Pakhomov, who gained 76.86% of votes. Nemtsov unsuccessfully tried to overturn the election results, claiming numerous violations during the election campaign and voting.
