Chechen Commandant's Office: mass fight among soldiers caused by domestic reason

In the territory of a military unit in the village of Borzoi, a fight involved several dozen people. This was reported by an official from of the Military Commandant's Office of Chechnya. Till present, there are no official data on victims.

According to residents of the Shatoy District of Chechnya, the conflict occurred in the military unit on February 25.

"On February 24, in the Borzoi regiment, a group of soldiers from one of the units beat a young soldier of Chechen origin. On February 25, a group of Chechen guys, also serving in the territory of the regiment in various units, beat soldiers of the battalion in retaliation," one of local residents told the "Caucasian Knot".

According to local resident Ismail, his nephew serves at a military unit deployed near the village of Borzoi. "There was a serious conflict, and a mass fight occurred between soldiers. Commanders had to intervene in the fight. To stop the fight, officers even fired into the air from automatic weapons," he has explained.

Officers from the Chechen Military Commandant's Office said that a domestic conflict took place in the military unit, after that a mass fight occurred between two groups of soldiers. Besides, the officers have noted that earlier, no such incidents occurred in the military unit.
