Activist of "Union of the Just" placed in custody in Dagestan

Mukhammad Magomedov, an activist of the public organization "Union of the Just", who was under house arrest, has been placed in custody under demand of the FSB. His relatives find the decision unjustified.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Magomedov was detained on May 23, 2015. He is charged with illegal manufacture and possession of weapons. At first, Magomedov was taken into custody, but in June 2015 his defence managed to ensure house arrest for him.

Today, the Sovietsky Court of Makhachkala has reversed the judgement and returned Magomedov into custody, said the spokesman of the court.

The toughening of his freedom restraint was initiated by the FSB under the motive that Magomedov had several times changed his residence without notifying the investigators, said his relatives.

According to relatives, Magomedov has no housing of his own; and for various reasons, he was forced to move from one rented flat to another. But each time, they assert, Mukhammad warned in advance his investigator about it.

Let us remind you that in January 2014 Mukhammad Magomedov tried to organize a rally in Moscow against Caucasophobia, but the Mayoralty did not sanction it.
