Investigators fail to confirm identity of suicide bomber

The examination of the remains of the suicide bomber, who committed the explosion at the GIBBD (traffic police) post, is not yet finalized, said the spokesman of the Investigating Department (ID) for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF). According to his story, until the examination is over, we cannot assert that the explosion was committed by Magomedali Murliev.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Dagestani suicide bomber had been pre-identified as Admir Talibov, a native of Dagestan and a student of the Astrakhan University. However, on February 19, the edition "LifeNews" stated, referring to the outcomes of the genetic examination, that the explosion was committed by Magomedali Murliev, a member of the "Yuzhnaya" (Southern) criminal grouping.

The "LifeNews" reported, referring to its law enforcement source, that Murliev did not suspect that explosive devices had been installed in his car.

Rasul Temirbekov, the spokesman of the above ID for Dagestan of the ICRF, could not confirm that the explosion at the GIBDD post was committed by Magomedali Murliev.

On February 20, a source from the republic's power structures said that two persons – Shahkbanov, 25, and Gazliev, 24, – had been detained on suspicion of helping the organizers of the explosion.
