Buynaksk Court takes Yusup Bartykhanov in custody

Yusup Bartykhanov, a member of the tender committee for the selection of candidates for the post of Mayor of Buynaksk, is suspected of illegal purchase and possession of weapons and drugs. This was reported by a source from the Buynaksk City Court. According to the source, the Court has taken Yusup Bartykhanov in custody for two months.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Yusup Bartykhanov, one of the supporters of Acting Buynaksk Mayor Zakarya Amirov, a member of the tender committee for the selection of candidates for the post of Mayor of Buynaksk, was detained on February 11. This was announced by Marat Djankhaev, a deputy of the City Council, who did not rule out political motive of the Yusup Bartykhanov's arrest. Officials from the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) have confirmed the information about the detention of Yusup Bartykhanov. However, the MIA's officers refused to disclose the cause of his detention.

No indictment has been filed against Yusup Bartykhanov yet. However, a criminal case has been instituted against him under Articles 222 (illegal purchase and possession of weapons) and 228 (illegal purchase and storage of drugs) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by a source from the Buynaksk City Court.

It should be noted that earlier, the "Chernovik" (Draft) has reported with reference to its sources on the information disseminated throughout the city that the detention of Yusup Bartykhanov was connected with the alleged preparation of an attempt on the life of City Mayor Gusein Gamzatov.
