CTO has not affected daily life in Khasavyurt District
Villagers of Novomekhelta, Siukh and Pervomaiskoe said that they feel no restrictions because of the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime announced in the Khasavyurt District of Dagestan.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the CTO regime has been introduced today in the territory of the Khasavyurt District at 5:00 a.m. Moscow time. According to a law enforcement source, power agents found a camp in the forest, belonging to members of an illegal armed formation (IAF), with whom a shootout broke out.
According to a local resident named Ali, the local school and the rural hospital are working in a usual way.
In the village of Pervomaiskoe, "there are absolutely no changes," said an employee of the local school.
According to a resident of the village of Novomekhelta named Madina, she felt no special consequences of the CTO regime.
The village of Endirey, in the vicinity of which suspected militants were found, is located 12 km north-west of Khasavyurt, and inhabited by about 8000 people. The last major special operation near this village took place in October 2012. Then, on October 9, three suspected IAF members were killed.
