Eyewitnesses report on kidnapping in Grozny
On February 5, in the Leninsky District of Grozny, a group of people captured a young man and took him away to some unknown destination. This was reported by local residents through social networks. The law enforcement bodies of Chechnya have not yet commented on the incident.
Today, the message about the kidnapping of a young man is being actively disseminated by Chechen residents through social networks and mobile phone applications, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
"Last night (on February 5), somehow at about 6 p.m., we with a friend were driving down Mitaev Street. We saw how three persons captured a young man, who was walking down the street, forced him into a black Lada Priora car and drove in the direction of the city centre," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Khamzat, a Grozny resident.
He has expressed his confidence that law enforcers are involved in the capture of the young man.
"With a probability of 100%, they were law enforcers. Priora cars are their favourite cars. However, it is not clear why and for what reason they captured a guy straight on the street and took him away to some unknown destination," the Grozny resident has noted.
Local resident Louisa has said that she learned about the kidnapping of the man from the message sent to her by her friend through the mobile phone application.
"I also sent it to my friends, so that they could inform other people. Perhaps, the information gets to relatives or friends of the guy, and they will have a chance to do something about that," Louisa said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
Officials from the law enforcement bodies of the Chechen Republic were not able to provide any comments regarding the incident. The spokesman of the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that he does not have any information about the incident.
