At trial, witnesses report about circumstances of Valery Permyakov's detention

On February 5, at the trial in the criminal case of the murder of the Avetisyan family in Gyumri, the court questioned three witnesses, who told the details of the Valery Permyakov's detention.

On January 12, in Gyumri, six members of the Avetisyan family were assassinated. The only survivor of the attack – the six-month-old Sergey Avetisyan – was hospitalized in critical condition and underwent his treatment in Yerevan. On January 19, the baby's condition has deteriorated and he died. A Russian regular soldier Valery Permyakov is arrested as a suspect of committing the massacre.

Advocate Lusine Saakyan has told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the testimony given by officer Mikhail Khachatryan, who detained Valery Permyakov, proves the fact that the Russian side carried out search activities at night without any notification to Armenian law enforcers.

Lusine Saakyan has also added that, following the testimony given by Mikhail Khachatryan, it should be noted that the Russian officers did not provide all the information to the Armenian investigators.

Erem Sargsyan, an advocate presenting the interests of the successors of the Avetisyan family, has informed the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent of his intention to file to the court a motion to summon the commander of the border guards unit, who will be able to answer a number of questions describing why Valery Permyakov was not brought to the Armenian side after his detention.

The advocate believes that witness Mikhail Khachatryan is "not competent to give such testimony." "It was clear that he was acting on the orders of a superior officer," said Yerem Sargsyan.
