Kasyanov complains to FSB and ICRF about video in Kadyrov's Instagram
Mikhail Kasyanov, Chairman of the PARNAS Party, has addressed the Russia's Federal Security Bureau (FSB) and the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) with a demand to open a criminal case against Kadyrov because of the movie posted by him on the Instagram.
This fact was announced by the lawyer Vadim Prokhorov: "Today, we've lodged an application to the FSB with a demand to open a criminal case on this fact."
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 12, Ramzan Kadyrov stated that the non-systemic opposition should be treated "as enemies of the people and as traitors" who are trying to deteriorate the situation in Russia. On February 1, on his Instagram page, Ramzan Kadyrov published a video, in which Mikhail Kasyanov, the leader of the "PARNAS" Party, appeared under a filter simulating a rifle sight. Commentators have treated the video as a threat to the opposition politician.
According to Vadim Prokhorov, the application was submitted on behalf of Kasyanov and his party deputy chairman Vladimir Kara-Murza Junior, who was also depicted in the video, posted by Kadyrov, the "Interfax" reports.
According to Mr Prokhorov, a complaint about the attempt on a public figure was also lodged to the ICRF.
"The applicants hope for at least a minimum check that will stop a series of threats," said the lawyer.
He explained that Kadyrov's actions are prohibited by the Russian legislation, under which threats are criminally punishable.
