In Volgograd, picketers protest against war in Syria
In Volgograd, seven participants of the picket in defence of Article 31 of the Russian Constitution stood against combat actions in Syria and Ukraine, for release of political prisoners and fair elections. Besides, they also urged the authorities to abide by the Constitution of Russia.
Article 31 of the Russian Constitution states: "Citizens of the Russian Federation shall have the right to assemble peacefully, without weapons, hold rallies, meetings and demonstrations, marches and pickets."
According to Olga, a participant of the picket, she went to the protest action "in memory of Article 31 of the Constitution" because "Article is violated, and we have no right to express his opinion. Besides, I do not like bombings in Syria and interference in the affairs of Ukraine," the picketer told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
In her hands, picketer Galina Tikhenko was holding posters with anti-war content. "The Russian government is spending a lot of money on arms. We stand against the war in Ukraine and Syria. Russia should not be involved in wars. People can hardly breathe," Galina Tikhenko told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
