Volgograd authorities pay first compensations to tenants of destroyed house
The first group tenants of the destroyed house in Kosmonavtov Street in Volgograd have received their lump sum compensations for their ruined housing, said a source from the city administration. As assured by Svetlana Kuznetsova, the Chair of the Regional Committee for Construction, all the victims' problems would be resolved fairly. In the opinion of the lawyer Gennady Melnikov, it is necessary first you need to deal with tenants' ownership rights, and then think about compensations.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 13 the authorities reported the readiness of documents for the resettlement of 67 families.
Svetlana Kuznetsova said that her committee is working towards providing the victims with an opportunity to buy new housing, including within the framework of the programme "Housing for Russian Family", where the cost per square meter is 35,000 roubles.
"These are fully finished apartments in new houses. The term of commissioning is July 2016," said Kuznetsova.
The administration of Volgograd reported that 1.63 million roubles were allocated for payments to the affected residents of the destroyed house.
A former resident of the house, a father of five children, Alexander Kabanov said that has not yet received compensation for his lost property. He treated the amount provided by the housing certificates insufficient for his needy family.
