Gamzatov's supporters decide to challenge his dismissal as Mayor of Buynaksk in court

Supporters of Gusein Gamzatov are preparing a lawsuit against the decision of the City Assembly to dismiss him from the post of the head of Buynaksk. The extraordinary session of the Assembly, where the decision was made, was held with violations, said Zairbek Valiev, one of the Deputies.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 18 the Deputies of the City Assembly of Buynaksk considered the issue of early termination of powers of Mayor Gusein Gamzatov on his own will. However, Deputy Valiev called Gamzatov's application a fake and said that he had asked the Prosecutor's Office to verify its authenticity.

Gamzatov has not submitted any resignation application; he is currently on a sick leave, said Zairbek Valiev, a former head of the city administration.

Valiev also believes that the January 18 session of the City Assembly of Buynaksk was held in violation of the law, because the Deputies did not receive the due notifications and the agenda of the session. Moreover, the issue of Gamzatov's resignation was not on the agenda, he said.

Valiev also refuted the statement of the Deputies of the City Assembly-supporters of Zakarya Amirov that Osmanov and Gamzatov were trying to dissolve the City Assembly. He believes that Deputies are pressed by supporters of Amirov, who have "a lot of relatives in power structures."
