Vladikavkaz: SC leaves Oleg Dzampaev in custody

An advocate of policeman Oleg Dzampaev, a defendant in the case of the death of detainee Vladimir Tskaev, has called the decision of the Supreme Court (SC) of North Ossetia unjustified.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night of November 1, 2015, 39-year-old Vladimir Tskaev died at the Iriston OVD (Interior Division) after an interrogation. According to his relatives, Vladimir Tskaev died from torture. Four policemen were arrested in the case.

In November 2015, relatives of arrested policeman Oleg Dzampaev have claimed that North-Ossetian investigators should not be involved in the investigation into the case of the murder of Vladikavkaz resident Vladimir Tskaev. According to the Oleg Dzampaev's relatives, the investigation should involve "a federal investigating team."

The Supreme Court of North Ossetia has upheld the decision of the District Court of Vladikavkaz to keep in custody Oleg Dzampaev, an official of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Vladikavkaz UVD (Interior Department).

Miloslav Kabaloev, an advocate of Oleg Dzampaev, has announced his intention to file a complaint against the Court's actions and the unjustified detention of his client.
