Volgograd authorities promise to simplify issuance of certificates to tenants of ruined house
Victims will not have to pay the state duty for restoration of lost documents at the Civil Registry Office and Federal Migration Service, officials have stated at a meeting with tenants of the destroyed multi-storey apartment block. The victims themselves were not satisfied with officials' explanation on the issue of compensations.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 20, an explosion occurred in No. 47 in Cosmonauts Street in Volgograd. As a result, a block of the building has collapsed. The bodies of five persons were found. Experts have recognized the residential building as dilapidated and subjected to demolition.
A meeting of the initiative group of tenants of the destroyed Volgograd house with officials took place today. Tenants said they did not receive an answer to the question on how the sum of compensation for the lost housing is made up.
"We asked questions, but failed to receive answers to most of them. Officials promised to prepare answers," Andrei Kondrashov, a member of the initiative group, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
"They have voiced the Governor's decision that a mini-park would be made in the place of our house; but who needs it and why?" Andrei has added.
"Officials have promised to present documents to us next time," said Vitaly Melnikov, another tenant of the destroyed apartment house. "We haven't heard how the compensation sum of 35,000 roubles per square meter was calculated. We asked questions about insurance of housing, which have also remained unanswered. It is also unclear, why should the administration spend money on making a mini-park in the place of our house, if there are no sufficient funds to buy equivalent housing for us."
