Resident of Georgian village of Bershueti kidnapped, locals report
A group of eight armed men has kidnapped Lasha Glurdjidze, a resident of the village of Bershueti of the Gori District, and his friend Saba Sekhniashvili has managed to escape. This was reported by local residents.
On January 4, the locals reported that Lasha Glurdjidze and Saba Sekhniashvili were going to the Church of the Holy Trinity, located on the territory controlled by the Georgian side.
Saba Sekhniashvili has reported that Lasha Glurdjidze was kidnapped right from the territory of the Church. According to the man, there were eight attackers, and they were all armed. Furthermore, Saba Sekhniashvili has also noted that Lasha Glurdjidze was brought to the direction of Tskhinvali, the "Georgia Online" reports.
According to the mother of Lasha Glurdjidze, her son's mobile phone stopped working several minutes after he had been detained by unidentified attackers. The woman states that till present, nobody has contacted her family members.
