Two victim of Derbent shelling transferred to MIA hospital

The health condition of the persons wounded on December 30 by gunfire at the viewing platform of the Naryn-Kala Fortress in Derbent is better. Two persons were transferred to the republic's hospital of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA); and two other victims – a male and a female – were moved today from intensive care unit to a general ward.

The "Caucasian Knot" was the first to report about the armed attack in the area of the Naryn-Kala Fortress. 12 persons were hospitalized with gunshot wounds; one of them later died.

According to Rumina Demirova, the chief physician of the Central City Hospital of Derbent, the victims are mostly young people.

"They came to the observation platform after the concert of Dargin songs. This is the first time in our city that civilians were shelled," said the doctor.

Ms Demirova also said that on December 31 the victims were visited by Malik Bagliev, the head of the city district "Derbent", and Magomed Djelilov, the head of the Derbent District.

The responsibility for the shelling in Derbent was taken by the "Islamic State" (IS).
