Doctors call on to investigate Khadis Bottaev's murder

The investigating authorities of Kabardino-Balkaria should do their best to solve the murder of Khadis Bottaev, the head physician of the Republican Clinical Hospital. This call has been voiced by the open letter of members of the medical community, which was signed by more than 300 people.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 5, Khadis Bottaev was shot dead in the village of Khasanya. According to investigators, the murder was committed by several attackers.

On March 27, 2015, Khadis Bottaev was appointed the head physician of the Republican Clinical Hospital. He dismissed 311 employees of the hospital. He closed private pharmacies operating in the territory of the hospital, and he was fighting against the practice of receiving bribes by doctors of the hospital.

In their open letter addressed to the investigating authorities, the authors call Khadis Bottaev "a brilliant surgeon, a talented organizer, and a reliable friend." The activists treat his murder as "cynical and treacherous."

On December 24, Valery Ustov, Chief of the Investigating Department for Kabardino-Balkaria of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), reported that the investigation into the murder involved "scientific and technological means at the disposal of the ICRF" and the FSB.

Earlier, 227 staff members of the Republican Clinical Hospital have called on to name their medical institution after Khadis Bottaev.
