Explosion in Istanbul occurred against search of suspect from Dagestan

Turkish policemen are establishing the cause of the explosion at the airport, which killed one woman. The inquiry is conducted against the background of the search of Patimat Abdulgamidova, a native of Dagestan, suspected of preparing a major terror act in Turkey.

According to Turkish authorities, at night on December 23, in the parking area of aircrafts of the SabihaGokchenAirport in Istanbul, an explosion occurred, injuring two women-employees of the airport staff. One of them was in grave condition due her head injury, and later died, the Dogan News reports.

Let us remind you that this April the Turkish police was transferred to enhanced service mode in all country's provinces as aftermath of data about the impending major terror act. On suspicion of preparing thereof, the above Patimat Abdulgamidova, a native of Dagestan, was declared wanted.

Patimat Abdulgamidova (nee Gadjieva) was born in 1988 in the Dagestani village of Levashi. According to Dagestani law enforcers, she "was recruited by Dagestani militants and left with her two children to Turkey, where she continues to be treated."

The current whereabouts of Patimat Abdulagamidova is unknown, but until the last moment, "the woman had ties in Turkey only with extremists and lived with them," the edition named "Life News" reports with reference to statements of Abdulgamidova's relatives.
