ICRF reports detection of remains of second casualty of explosion in Volgograd
The fact that today in the evening, when removing debris of the flats in Volgograd, they found body fragments of another casualty, was reported by Natalia Kunitskaya, the press secretary of the Investigating Department (ID) for the Volgograd Region of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), who is quoted by the "Interfax".
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 20 an explosion occurred in a residential building in Volgograd, which destroyed a flight of the building from the second up to the ninth levels. It was reported about 12 wounded and five dead tenants; however, only one death has been officially confirmed so far.
According to Kunitskaya, the second body has not been indentified yet, because it is badly burned. Supposedly, the remains belong to a man, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
The body of the second casualty was found on the seventh level – the one, in which, according to investigators, the explosion occurred. Other casualties may be lost under the rubbles on the sixth and second levels, the TASS reports with reference to Leonid Belyaev, the deputy head of the Russia's Ministry for Emergencies (MfE).
It is known that among those who may be buried under ruins there is a 24-year-old girl, who, at the time of the accident, was visiting his friends, the regional portal V1 reports with reference to the staff of the operative headquarters working at the site of the explosion.
Let us remind you that investigators are considering two versions of the explosion – wrong handling of gas equipment during repair works, and an incident of domestic nature with natural gas. At the same time, according to neighbours, tenants of No. 64, where the explosion occurred, brought home and stored ammunition and cylinders with gas and gasoline.
