80 truckers keep striking near Khasavyurt

Drivers of 70-80 heavy vehicles continue truckers' strike in the Dagestan city of Khasavyurt. Protestors report no obstacles from the police.

Truck drivers from several regions of Russia, including the Krasnodar Territory, Dagestan, and the Volgograd and Rostov Regions, are protesting against the "Platon" system, introduced for the collection of tolls from trucks for the use of federal highways.

Drivers of 70-80 trucks are still on strike, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has been told by one of the participants of the protest action in the suburbs of Khasavyurt.

"The number of protestors varies, and it increases and decreases insignificantly. People leave the place to join their families and then return back to protest," said the protestor. According to him, the police no longer bother the strikers.
