Aircraft accident in Stavropol Territory could be caused by pilot's mistake and equipment failure

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, a light aircraft crashed and caught fire in the Predgorny District of the Stavropol Territory. Four persons who were on the board of the aircraft were killed.

There is information that the aircraft was performing an unauthorized flight, and it started its flight without prior registration, reports a source from the law enforcement bodies of the Stavropol Territory.

"The pilot was to preliminary file a notification of a flight to the zonal centre in Rostov-on-Don, and the information about the departure was supposed to go to a dispatcher of the Mineralnye Vody airport. However, no notification of the flight of the aircraft was registered," the "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" quotes the law enforcer as stating.

According to Alexei Misaev, Chief of the Transport Investigating Department for Mineralnye Vody of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), the versions of pilot's mistake and technical failure of the aircraft will be considered as a priority in the course of the investigation into the aircraft crash.

The investigation into the fact of the aircraft crash is underway, reports the website of the ICRF's Southern Investigating Department for Transport.
