Native of Chechnya, suspected of involvement in IS, detained in Belarus

In Brest, a Russian citizen has been detained. In Russia, he was put on the wanted list on suspicion of organizing an illegal armed formation (IAF) and involvement in it.

According to the Belarusian secret services, a 28-year-old native of Chechnya left his homeland yet in 2003. Since that time, he was trained in one of the camps of the "Islamic State" (IS) (banned in Russia and recognized as a terrorist organization– note of the ‘Caucasian Knot), and he was an active IS member.

The suspect's mobile phone bears a piece of evidence of his guilt, reports Dmitry Pobyarzhin, Chief of the press service of the Belarusian KGB.

In particular, the memory of the suspect's mobile phone stored videos related to the IS. However, the video widely circulates on the Internet, the "RBC" reports.

The detained native of Chechnya will be extradited to Russian law enforcers, the "ONT" reports.
