Rally of "New Armenia" grows into march
Today, the Oppositional Front "New Armenia" has held a rally in Freedom Square. Opposition activists stated that the authorities used their administrative resources during the December 6 referendum on constitutional reforms.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 6, Armenia held voting at the referendum on the constitutional reform project. During the day, observers noted a low turnout, as well as violations committed at precincts. According to the Central Election Commission (CEC), the voter turnout at the referendum made 50.51%; and 63.35% of the voters spoke in support of the reforms.
After the end of the rally in Freedom Square, opposition activists started a march, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
"Civil disobedience is your constitutional right. Join the revolution and stand up in defence of your country," Gevorg Safaryan, a member of the "Constituent Parliament", said addressing the protesters.
