On November 30-December 6, three persons fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus
During the week of November 30-December 6, 2015, three persons fell victim to the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. Of them, two persons were killed, and one person was wounded. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.
The death toll includes a suspected member of the armed underground and a civilian, both of them in Dagestan.
Attacks on law enforcers
On December 1, law enforcers encountered an armed man in a wooded area of the Buynaksk District of Dagestan. When offered to produce his ID, he opened fire. As a result of the shootout, the unidentified attacker was killed.
On December 1, on the 767th km of the federal highway "Kavkaz", unidentified armed men, who were travelling in a VAZ-2110 car in the direction of the town of Khasavyurt, fired shots at inspectors of the road-and-patrol service (known as DPS) and then fled from the place. As a result of the attack, one of the policemen got a gunshot wound to his left hand, and the other policeman was not wounded.
Attacks on civilians
At about 5:00 p.m. of December 1, unidentified persons shot and killed Suleiman Kokreksky, Imam of the mosque at the city hospital of Khasavyurt, the author of a number of sermons and lectures, who was one of the followers of the Salafi concept of Islam. According to a local resident, at the corner of Kizlyar and Dagestan Streets, the Imam was approached by a silver Priora car, and passengers opened fire out of the back window of the car. Suleiman Kokreksky died on the way to the hospital.
