ICRF: Khadis Bottaev was shot dead in his head
Khadis Bottaev, the Chief Physician of the Republic's Clinical Hospital, who was shot dead today in the Kabardino-Balkarian village of Khasanya, was an acting member of the regional parliament.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Bottaev was killed in his house in his own bed. The doctor's body was found in the morning by his mother.
"Firearm shots were fired at Khadis Bottaev; and he died from the wound in his head. A criminal case has been opened under Part 1, Article 105 of the Russia's Criminal Code (murder)," said the Investigating Department for the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).
According to unofficial data, the attackers did not penetrate into the house.
"The gunman made his shots from outside through the half-open window," the "Lifenews" reports, citing its law enforcement source.
In 2014, Khadis Bottaev was elected an MP of the KBR from the "Edinaya Rossiya" (United Russia) Party. He was co-chair of the parliamentary Committee on Interethnic Relations and a member of the Committee on Social Policy, Labour and Public Health. In March this year, he was appointed to the post of Chief Physician of the Republic's Clinical Hospital.
