Dagestani MPs propose to deprive terrorists of citizenship
The deputies of Dagestan have introduced to the Russian State Duma a draft law to deprive of the Russian citizenship those persons who are involved in terrorist activities abroad.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Russian investigates nearly 650 criminal cases on involvement of Russian citizens in armed groupings abroad, as well as on recruitment and organization of transportation of mercenaries abroad. This was reported on November 10 by Yuri Chaika, Russian General Prosecutor.
According to the explanatory memorandum to the draft law, posted on the website of the Russian State Duma, it is proposed to deprive of the Russian citizenship those persons who are "involved or used to be involved in the commission, during international, interethnic, inter-territorial or other armed conflicts, of actions against Russian peacekeeping forces or ... against the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation."
Besides, the draft law supposes to deprive of the Russian citizenship for "commission of terror acts, extremist activities or involvement in the preparation of such acts, involvement in such activities outside the Russian Federation against citizens of the country and representative offices of the Russian Federation in foreign countries."
